Join Us in Making a Difference

The Equanimity Project is an Australian first initiative, and an essential part of the fabric of Australian society. Our outcomes reach into every community and challenge the existing support services and protocols.

As a charitable organisation, we enrich and applaud culture, protect the vulnerable, educate to enable others to have faith and improve individual and family health and well-being.

We contribute to good public policy through active participation and advocate on behalf of individuals and communities struggling to overcome adversities.

Our Executive Board are lived experience and their stories are bound by the hidden thread of trauma and enlightenment.

If you are seeking thought-provoking, inspirational, and informative speakers for your events, workshops or to generally raise the awareness in your employees or clients reach out.

Karen R Levin

Founder & Director

As the Founder of The Equanimity Project, my journey was not shaped solely by my international and domestic business experience. After 17 years in the USA, my return to Australia was not a choice—it was an escape from circumstances that changed my life forever.

This lived experience gave me deep insight and empathetic understanding of the challenges women face—both seen and unseen. It was this firsthand knowledge, combined with a passion for advocacy, that inspired me to create meaningful change.

Recognising the gaps in support systems, I was driven to develop a responsive, sustainable solution—one that improves the welfare of women and children (and even pets) and strengthens Australian society as a whole.

At The Equanimity Project, my mission is to cultivate a sustainable model of charitable and social enterprise where communities become the solution and real impact is seen across all levels of society and government. Through collaboration, education, and action, we can break cycles of trauma and create lasting change.

Sue Lyness-Munk

Director

I am deeply committed to holistic well-being, ensuring that the mind and body work in harmony. True wellness is not just about physical or mental health in isolation—it’s about balance, resilience, and the ability to nurture ourselves so we can better support others.

Being part of The Equanimity Project is both an honour and a responsibility. Every day, we have the privilege of meeting and educating women (and men) from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lived experiences.

Through these interactions, we witness firsthand the strength of the human spirit and the profound impact that knowledge, empowerment, and community support can have on someone’s journey.

Caring for ourselves is not a luxury; it is a necessity. When we align our thoughts, actions, and intentions toward self-care, we cultivate the capacity to be truly empathetic caregivers—not only for our own healing but for those who carry the weight of trauma.

By fostering self-awareness and compassion, we create a ripple effect of support, understanding, and meaningful change.
